I’ve been on the hunt for these shoes since they originally came out about 6-7 years back! I missed the Dr.M rerelease, so when I saw them here I just had to buy. Over the years I read reviews talking about how big they run so I went ahead and ordered a size down. I’m a true women’s 6 so I got a 5. I can tell these are gonna be hard to break in but all of my other Docs are perfect after wearing them for months! The leather feels stiff and I can already tell the t-bar is going to give me blisters, and my toes will be killing me. But the support feels nice otherwise!

I'm used to Dr Martens being on the larger side, so I felt ordering my usual size 8 would work. It did, but per warnings from this site & other sites, people suggested getting a size smaller as they run large. When I received them, I did see that the 8s were rather big, so I figured a size down (7) would work. However, those were too small. My toes "hit" the end of the shoe. Too bad there weren't any 1/2 sizes available! A 7 1/2 probably would've worked. But 1/2 sizes aren't offered, so I decided to keep the 8s because I love these shoes. I've read that people get shoe inserts to adjust the roominess. Hopefully that'll help. If not, I'll just wear thicker socks. I tend to wear thinner ones to begin with, so maybe that's the ticket.

I want to love these shoes but they are nearly impossible for me to put on because the strap for the buckle is SO, SO, SO SHORT. It is way too short to reasonably buckle and unbuckle when taking them on/off. I tried buckling them first, then slipping my foot inside, but for me, the shoe was way to stiff to do this. Maybe just a bad fit for my foot, but this seems like a huge design flaw? They seemed otherwise comfortable and fit my foot, but rendered completely unwearable because the buckle strap was too short to buckle with my foot in the shoe. Very sad.

Love the feel! Comfy and no break in.

Super cute. Didn’t take long to break in. Normally I’m a women’s size 9 in all other shoes but for Docs I’m always a size 8. I definitely recommend sizing down. These fit true to size for Dr. Martens (which is usually one size smaller)
