These have elastic laces which serve only aesthetic value. Trying to walk in the shoes they kept falling off as the elastic laces were pointless.

After I wore these for a while, the white laces were smudged, probably both from wearing them and color transfer from the shoes themselves. There is no way to clean the laces or replace them. I contacted Veronica Beard about this problem, both online and in a store and got nowhere. So I ended up cutting the elastic laces out and putting in regular shoe laces. This required punching a hole through the inside leather liner over the top hole. I will have to see if they fit as well with conventional laces. The look of a black and white sneaker with dirty laces was not a good one.

Seems like they would have been fine except the built-in laces. I wish I had read the reviews, same issue, sloppy walking around. I thought I would just replace them but someone else said you had to puncture the interior leather….. and who wants to do that. IMO, for the money, they should be perfect. Returned
